Prior to joining Alex. Brown in 2017, Richard spent eight years in the banking industry in the Triad area; most recently as a Business Banker at PNC Bank.  During his banking career, he focused on treasury management, commercial lending and business transition planning.

Due the relationship management aspect of Richard’s previous positions, he places a heavy emphasis on enhancing the client experience and risk management.  These factors help ensure every client maintains a balanced risk/reward profile.

Richard holds both the Series 7 and 66 licenses. 

Richard earned a double major in Economics and History from Hampden-Sydney College in Farmville, VA.  He was born and raised in Winston-Salem.  He is an active member on the local boards for The American Heart Association, Creative Corridors Coalition and The Center for Creative Economy. 

Outside of the office, Richard enjoys local craft beer, local arts, bike riding, running, spending time with his family and hiking in Western North Carolina with his dog, Oscar.
